Overview
God commands Moses and Aaron to arrange the twelve tribes in a precisely ordered camp surrounding the Tent of Meeting — Judah at the honored eastern vanguard, Reuben to the south, Ephraim to the west, and Dan as rear guard — with the Levites bearing the divine dwelling at the center, and the entire assembly of 603,550 men fulfilling every detail exactly as the Lord commanded.
