Sacred Texts is a study tool that provides structured commentary on biblical texts, along with AI-generated teaching resources and group features for parishes, Bible studies, and faith communities. By accessing or using Sacred Texts, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Commentary provided on Sacred Texts represents interpretive and theological analysis and should not be treated as authoritative theological teaching. Sacred Texts makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or theological correctness of any commentary.

Readers are encouraged to consult primary sources, ordained clergy, and established theological scholarship when making decisions of spiritual or doctrinal significance.

Sacred Texts uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate commentary annotations, teaching outlines, devotionals, and study guides. Published commentary annotations are reviewed by a human editor before publication. Teaching outlines, devotionals, and study guides are generated on demand and are not individually reviewed prior to delivery.

AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or theological interpretations you disagree with. You are responsible for evaluating any AI-generated resource before using it in a teaching, liturgical, or pastoral context. Sacred Texts is not liable for how AI-generated content is used.

• —Free accounts have limited monthly access to commentary (10 views/month) and AI-generated resources (6 per resource type per month)
• —Premium subscriptions unlock unlimited commentary access and unlimited AI-generated resources
• —Premium features are billed on a monthly basis
• —Subscriptions are processed and managed through Stripe
• —You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal in your account settings
• —Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• —Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods
• —We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice to subscribers

Sacred Texts allows users to create and join groups for parishes, Bible studies, youth groups, and other faith communities.

• —Group leaders are responsible for managing their group, including membership, shared content, and communications
• —Leaders may publish AI-generated resources (outlines, devotionals, study guides) to their group — members of that group will be able to view them
• —Sacred Texts does not review or moderate content published within groups
• —Sacred Texts is not responsible for the conduct, content, or activities of any group
• —Groups may be archived or deleted by their leader at any time
• —Sacred Texts reserves the right to remove any group that violates these terms

Group leaders may connect a Stripe account to accept donations from group members.

• —Sacred Texts uses Stripe Connect to facilitate giving. All funds flow directly to the connected Stripe account — Sacred Texts does not hold or receive donated funds
• —Sacred Texts is a technology platform only and is not a payment processor, financial institution, or money transmitter
• —Group leaders are solely responsible for compliance with applicable laws regarding charitable solicitation, tax reporting, and financial record-keeping
• —Sacred Texts is not responsible for giving disputes, chargebacks, refunds, or the tax treatment of donations
• —Sacred Texts reserves the right to suspend giving access for any group that violates these terms

Commentary content, site design, and associated materials are owned by Sacred Texts and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.

AI-generated resources (outlines, devotionals, study guides) that you generate through the platform are yours to use for personal, educational, and non-commercial pastoral purposes. Mass redistribution or commercial resale of AI-generated resources is not permitted.

Scripture quotations are taken from the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Sacred Texts makes no claim of ownership over the biblical text itself.

You agree not to use Sacred Texts in any way that disrupts, damages, or impairs the service or its infrastructure. The following are prohibited and may result in immediate termination of your account:

• —Automated scraping or harvesting of content
• —Attempting to circumvent access controls, rate limits, or subscription gates
• —Using the service to generate content intended to deceive, harass, or harm others
• —Sharing account credentials to circumvent subscription limits
• —Any use that violates applicable law

Sacred Texts is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sacred Texts and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, group activities, or giving transactions.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from your use of Sacred Texts shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sacred Texts after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active subscribers by email.
